Clayton Farmer is in his second year of graduate studies in organ performance at the Yale School of Music, where he studies organ performance, accompaniment, and improvisation. He serves as the organist at Battell Chapel, Yale University’s interdenominational student chapel. Prior to coming to Yale, Clayton received an undergraduate degree in organ performance and sacred music at the University of Michigan before serving as the Assistant Director of Music and Organist at Christ Church Cranbrook, Bloomfield Hills, MI. In addition to the organ, Clayton’s interests in church music include directing choirs, working with choristers, building wide-ranging music programs, and developing deep connections with congregations through the expression of worship and music.
