Jae is a scholar of poetry, philology, and literary history. Specializing in comparative poetics and with a background in classical languages and literatures, he is currently completing his dissertation project on literary imaginings of the archive and experimental vernacular poetry from early modern Italy and the contemporary Caribbean in the department of comparative literature at Yale. His research interests include Black Studies, prosody, book and manuscript studies, and Afro-Anglican aesthetic and liturgical practices. He is a postulant for holy orders in the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island.
