Örgü Dalgiç’s research interests focus on the visual culture of the early Christian and Byzantine Mediterranean; the topography and monuments of Constantinople; and cross-cultural encounters in the Mediterranean, with a particular focus on interactions of Greco-Roman, Byzantine, and Early Islamic visual cultures. She is currently part of the Notion archaeological survey project in Turkey. She most recently held postdoctoral research and teaching fellowships in Byzantine art and archaeology at Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, D.C. and in Early Christian Art and Archaeology at the Institute of Sacred Music. She also taught at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., Yeshiva University and Pratt Institute in New York.
