From August 27–August 30, 2025, the Yale Institute of Sacred Music will hold choral auditions for the 2025-26 season for Yale Schola Cantorum, Yale Camerata, Yale Recital Chorus, Yale Repertory Chorus, and other chapel choruses. Yale students, faculty, and staff, and members of the New Haven community, are invited to register.

Auditions will take place in the Great Hall at Yale Divinity School, 409 Prospect St. New Haven at the following times:

  • Wed Aug 27: 1:00–3:00pm
  • Wed Aug 27: 3:00–8:00pm (Returning Camerata Only)
  • Thu Aug 28: 3:00–8:00pm
  • Fri Aug 29: 3:00–8:00pm
  • Sat Aug 30: 10:00am-2:30pm

Singers are invited to prepare a short solo song or aria (accompanist provided) and will be led through a few simple vocal exercises demonstrating range and musicianship skills. Only one audition is required to be considered for membership for multiple ISM choral ensembles.

What you need to do

  • Fill out this registration questionnaire (an email with a confirmed audition time will be sent within 48 hours).
  • Prepare your short solo or aria and bring one copy of the music with you for the accompanist.
