Description: David Plante, novelist, Reading to be followed by a book-signing and reception. Part of the 2007-2008 Literature and Spirituality Series
David Plante is the author of more than a dozen novels including The Ghost of Henry James, The Family (a finalist for the National Book Award), The Woods, The Country, The Foreigner, The Native, The Accident, Annunciation, and The Age of Terror, as well as the nonfiction Difficult Women: A Memoir of Three and American Ghosts. He has had stories and profiles in The New Yorker, and features in The New York Times, Esquire, and Vogue. He is the recipient of awards from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the British Arts Council Bursary. He has recently been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, England. He has been a writer in residence at the Gorki Institute of Literature (Moscow), L’Université du Québec à Montréal, Adelphi University, King’s College (Cambridge), Tulsa University, and the University of East Anglia. Plante teaches writing at Columbia University and lives in New York and London.
