Description: A workshop-demonstration by Israeli vocal performance artist Victoria Hanna

Jerusalem based vocal artist Victoria Hanna is a world-renowned composer, performer, and teacher of voice and language. Hanna’s work presents sacred Hebrew texts, prayers, and practices in a unique context that integrates theatre, music, video, and spoken word. Drawing on examples from ancient Jewish texts, particularly Sefer Yetzirah (The Book of Creation), the workshop will actively stress the strong connection between the Hebrew letters and the human body. Hanna’s work relates to the voice, mouth, and Hebrew letters as primary tools of creation. Her music span from traditional Jewish music to new music and hip-hop. Hanna has performed in a variety of venues for over two decades and was featured in international festivals around the world.
