Margot Fassler, is the Robert S. Tangeman Professor Emerita of Music History. She has published widely on medieval music, and in recent years has devoted her attention to diverse projects including Coptic chant, and the all-consuming work of the 12th-century German mystic Hildegard von Bingen. Her work on Hildegard will find expression a forthcoming volume, Cosmos and Creation in Hildegard’s Scivias and a fascinating and ambitious multimedia project — a digital model of creation and cosmos based on Hildegard’s illuminations.
