ISM choral event at Yale planetarium draws a capacity crowd
On Saturday night under the dome of Yale’s Leitner Family Observatory and Planetarium, a capacity crowd gathered to hear the Chora Women’s Vocal Ensemble as they sang medieval, contemporary, and new music centering on the story of the universe as propagated by Thomas Berry and Brian Swimme, and interpreted by feminist theologian Glenys Livingstone. “Ave Maris Stella: Sing to the Stars” weaved together a range of voices, instruments, and musical styles in raising salutations to the stars and to humanity’s cosmic connections with all life and the universe.
The event was sponsored by the ISM’s Religion, Ecology, and Expressive Culture Initiative. Read more about the initiative here.
