Job Description: Saint Matthew is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher with a positive attitude to join our Music Ministry Staff! The Youth Choir Director works with the Pastor, music director, and staff to plan liturgies, prepares and teaches weekly hymns, psalms, meditation songs/anthems and mass parts from September to May. Professional skills required include but not limited to: conducting, singing and choral techniques, piano proficiency a MUST, teaching and leadership skills, knowledge of Latin and Spanish helpful but not required. Thursday weekly rehearsals from 6-7 and Sunday morning mass at 9am (with rehearsal prior to mass)as well as other rehearsals and other liturgies including Thanksgiving, Interfaith service, Christmas and Holy Week/ Easter as well as First Communion/ Confirmation services. The Youth Choir Director will be communicating with members/families weekly by email as needed as well as organizing folders and robes for all choir members.
