John Morrow is studying choral conducting and is the assistant conductor of Yale Camerata. Originally from Oklahoma, he taught at Sacred Heart University as the assistant choral director for the last three years. John is an active clinician and conductor—including recent masterclasses in Utrecht and Stockholm—as well as a church musician, serving as director and organist at First Congregational Church of Darien. His conducting credits span choral works from Bach and Talbot to the premiere of Jennifer Lucy Cook and Neely Bruce, alongside dozens of musical theatre and chamber opera productions. He is a member of the inaugural cohort of the Forge Choral Conducting Program and studied conducting and organ at Indiana University and the University of Oklahoma. John and his partner Rachel live in Norwalk with their dog Indiana and cat Kota, and he enjoys cooking and hiking. His research interests include organizational psychology in rehearsal settings and cultivating unique choral performances for audiences.
