Yale Schola Cantorum and the Danish National Vocal Ensemble will join together to perform works by William Byrd, Felix Mendelssohn, Carl Nielsen, Caroline Shaw, J.S. Bach and others. The concert will also feature the U.S. premiere of “to the Celestial City”, a new composition by Judith Bingham commissioned by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and the Danish National Vocal Ensemble.

Conducted by Marcus Creed, the Danish National Vocal Ensemble(link is external) is an elite professional chamber choir, acclaimed internationally both for its virtuoso choral technique and the beauty of its transparent Nordic sound. Each of its members functions both as a singer in the full ensemble and as an individual soloist in their own right. The choir performs regularly in Denmark and across Scandinavia, and frequently tours abroad.

Conducted by David Hill, Yale Schola Cantorum is a chamber choir that performs sacred music from the sixteenth century to the present day in concert settings and choral services around the world.
The concert is free and open to the public.
