Applications are now open for Institute of Sacred Music (ISM) graduate programs in music, religion, and the arts with the Yale School of Music (deadline December 1) and Yale Divinity School (deadline February 1). Sign up for one of our virtual admission information sessions.  All admitted students at the ISM receive full-tuition scholarships and generous stipends. Learn more and start your application here.

Graduate students at the ISM become part of a vibrant community of faculty, staff, students, fellows, and visiting scholars. In addition to the benefits of being a member of two professional schools (ISM and either the Music or Divinity school), students also have unlimited access to the vast and diverse resources of one of the world’s great research universities. Students meet faculty in the classroom, studio, rehearsal hall or worship space. Every two years ISM students and faculty embark on an international study trip. Past trips have included tours of Mexico, Germany, England, Italy, Spain, Greece, Russia, and many other locations. Learn more about past trips.

As an international center for sacred music, worship, and the related arts, ISM also sponsors about one hundred concerts, recitals, conferences, lectures, exhibits, films, and special events each year—view the calendar here—and is an active partner in the worship life of Yale’s many chapels. We would love to welcome you as a student!
