Job Description: Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (Gainesville, Florida) seeks a part-time Organist to collaborate with the Director of Music. Responsibilities include providing organ music for Sunday liturgies (hymns, service music, voluntaries), accompanying one weekly Chancel Choir rehearsal and service, and supporting seasonal services (Evensongs (two per year currently), Christmas, Holy Week, Easter). The Organist will also assist with piano accompaniment in rehearsals, monitor and document maintenance needs of the parish’s keyboard instruments, coordinating tuning and service as needed (three-manual Visser-Rowland pipe organ; three grand pianos, including a Yamaha C3 in the sanctuary). Strong service playing, excellent sight-reading, and choral accompanying skills are essential; familiarity with Episcopal liturgy is preferred. Graduate students and DMA candidates are encouraged to apply. Weddings and funerals are compensated separately. Salary range: $25-30K, negotiable (part-time, non-benefited position). The Organist serves at the pleasure of the Rector and reports to the Director of Music as immediate supervisor.
