Hyunju was born and raised in South Korea and graduated from Yonsei University with degrees in church music (emphasis in choral conducting) and business administration. She was a teacher and conductor of the Seoul Metropolitan Junior Chorus, and conducted a choir composed of North Korean defectors and their children and grandchildren. Hyungju loves singing and has worked as a professional soprano soloist with the Boryeong City Chorale and various other choirs.
