The Yale Jubilee Chorale is a new select 24-voice ensemble of the ISM’s Interdisciplinary Program in Music and the Black Church. Dedicated to the study, performance, and advancement of Black sacred music, it honors a profound musical legacy while fostering artistic excellence, scholarship, and living witness. Through rigorous study, transformative performance, and community engagement, the Yale Jubilee Chorale explores the rich traditions, histories, and lived experiences that have shaped Black sacred music. The ensemble seeks to preserve and amplify this global musical heritage while preparing a new generation of musicians, scholars, and leaders to carry these traditions forward with knowledge, integrity, and imagination.
