Job Description: THE PETER B. KNOCK INTERNSHIP IN SACRED MUSIC AT RYE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH $20,000, plus up to $3,000 for travel reimbursement, for the 2025-2026 Academic Year, with the opportunity to be renewed for the 2026-2027 Academic Year

In addition, an applicant should reside within a reasonable traveling distance of Rye, New York, and an applicant’s coursework should include or have included disciplines related to sacred music.

Internship Goal and Time Commitment: The internship provides a hands-on educational experience that includes regular playing and conducting opportunities within the context of worship and rehearsal. The time commitment averages 8-10 hours per week, for approximately 35 weeks. Participation on Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Easter is required. There are no regular evening rehearsals, as the Chancel Choir rehearses following worship on Sundays.

Application Process: Please contact Jason Charneski, the church’s Director of Music and Organist, by email (jcharneski@ryepc.com) to ask questions or to begin the application process. Applications will be received until an intern is named. Here is a brief video about the possibilities for the intern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAasWdrqfVc
