Job description: Job Opening: Tenor Section Leader St. John’s Lutheran Church – Stamford, CT St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Tenor Section Leader to join its active and supportive music program. The position begins the Sunday after Easter, April 12, with several opportunities to start earlier if available. This position is for the remainder of the spring term and/or for the next academic year, starting Sept 2026. Position Details Compensation: $175/week Schedule: 1 Sunday call per week No midweek rehearsals Holiday Pay: Double pay on Easter Morning and Christmas Eve Additional Services: Ash Wednesday Maundy Thursday Good Friday Easter Vigil About the Music Program The choir consists of volunteers plus a paid quartet Supportive, flexible environment The quartet frequently performs on its own Strong focus on new music in the Anglican tradition Emphasis on works by female and other underrepresented composers All music is provided in advance via Google Drive A straightforward and rewarding role for a strong reader and confident leader Monthly Evensong Once per month, the only call is mid-afternoon, with no morning obligation. This structure is designed to give singers flexibility to take additional morning gigs elsewhere. Accessibility St. John’s is conveniently located near Metro‑North Express, with Stamford as the first stop—less than one hour from Grand Central Terminal.
