The Voxtet in Norfolk

The Yale Voxtet, the ISM’s select group of eight singers specializing in early music, oratorio, and chamber ensemble, visited Norfolk, CT earlier this semester where they visited the Abbey of Regina Laudis to study Latin chant and participate in a Vespers service. They also joined Juilliard415 to assemble a program of pieces by Simone Vesi, the seventeenth century Italian composer. The music, compiled as new editions by musicologist Kerry Snyder, was performed for the first time in over 300 years.
