Job Description: The Choir of St. James the Less Episcopal in Scarsdale, NY, has an opening for a tenor section leader. A diverse, theologically inclusive and welcoming congregation, music at St James is a vital part of the life of the parish. The Choir of St. James is a semi-professional choir comprised of SATB section leaders and capable and wonderful volunteers. The program at St James sings music in the Anglican choral tradition and will be launching an RSCM program this fall for choristers. We are seeking a tenor who is trained in the Anglican choral tradition, is comfortable singing Anglican chant, is a good reader, has a blended choral sound, and can lead and guide their sections with care and collegiality. Extra services include Evensong, Advent Lessons & Carols, Jazz Mass, an out-of-town combined parish Evensong, and a possibility to attend the RSCM Washington, DC choral residency in 2027. The weekly commitment is as follows: Sundays Service: 10:30am Call: 9:30am Weekly Rehearsal Thursdays 7-9pm Call: $145/call; $290/week Extra pay for extended calls The choir season begins Sunday, September 20 and sings through the end of May. Located in lower Westchester County, St. James is easily accessible from NYC and is a short walk from the Scarsdale train station.
